A material noun is the name of a substance that is eaten, drunk, measured and weighed but not counted.

           An abstract noun is the name of such type of thing which is not seen or touched but only thought of.
            An abstract noun is usually the name of a quality, action or state considered apart from the object to which it belongs.

Goodness, kindness, honesty, wisdom, bravery, darkness

Laughter, theft, movement, judgement, hatred
